Continuing their crackdown on illegal ganja trafficking, Prohibition and Excise sleuths seized about 400 kg of dry ganja after a wild chase on the National Highway in the wee hours of Thursday.
The contraband valued at about Rs. 40 lakh was being smuggled in two cars, and, on a tipoff, the sleuths tried to intercept the cars. Seeing the officials, the cars sped and the officials gave a hot chase and finally intercepted them near Tandava junction in Nathavaram mandal of Visakhapatnam district. But both drivers fled the scene, abandoning the cars. The officials however, recovered the narcotic substance.
