Three policemen were suspended by Visakhapatnam Rural SP Rahul Dev Sharma on Monday on charge of dereliction of duty. The policemen were held responsible for the escape of three petty offenders from Kasimkota police station in the wee hours of July 9.
The suspended policemen were head constable G. Sanyasi Rao, constable S. Boddayya and home guard B. Prakash.
According to a release from the district police office, on June 8 three persons were arrested after they were found to be accused in a theft case at the local Nookambika temple on June 30.
According to the police, the accused were taken out to attend to nature’s call, from where they escaped.
The SP had suspended the three policemen who were on duty at that time. police teams have been deployed to nab the three offenders, who are at large.
