Parwada police arrested a three-member gang who were involved in at least five burglary cases, including the theft at temple in Parwada area, here on Friday.
The accused were identified as Boddapu Babu Rao (30), Tadipudi Sankar (34) and Bhushana Ramana (43).
According to DCP (Crimes) T. Ravi Kumar Murthy, both Babu Rao and Sankar were serial offenders had earlier served jail terms. While Babu Rao was involved in over 30 burglary cases Sankar was involved in about 14 cases.
Both Babu Rao and Sankar developed acquaintances in the jail and they were released in the first week of January, this year. Thereafter they committed two offences in Parwada area, two in MVP Colony area and one in Arilova area. Bhushana Ramana had helped them in safekeeping the stolen property, said Parwada Inspector B. Ramana Murthy.
The police seized about 10 tolas of gold, 1.68 kgs of silver and about Rs. 3.05 lakh in cash from the accused.
