A motorist Ganagala Mahesh (26), resident of Paindorapeta, was sent to judicial remand for 15 days in an accident case that took occurred on August 8 near AMCOSA, Krishna Mandir, Zilla Parishad junction.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Mahendra Patrudu, the accused, riding a motorcycle hit 55-year-old Gandapu Appalanarasamma, GVMC sweeper and a resident of Kothasalipeta at around 9 p.m., while she was sweeping the road.
The victim was admitted to King George Hospital with grievous head injuries, where she succumbed to her injuries.
During investigation it was ascertained that the motorcyclist was under the influence of alcohol at the time of accident.
