The New Port police on Friday arrested Aravind Kumar Singh on the charge of pushing his neighbour Samanthapudi Viswanadha Raju (42) from the terrace to death.
ACP (South) G.B.R. Madhusudhana Rao said that the victim was a lorry driver and residing in a rented portion of a house at Neelapu Veedhi in Pedagantyada of Gajuwaka.
The accused was residing in another portion along with Mitilesh Singh. A few days ago, when Aravind Kumar, in inebriated condition, demanded some money, Viswanadha Raju declined to oblige. The accused then picked up a quarrel and threatened to kill Raju. On June 3, Aravind again demanded money from Raju. When he refused, Aravind, in a fit of rage, pushed him from the terrace and fled.
Based on a complaint filed by house owner N.P. Reddy, the police arrested Aravind.
