Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Friday arrested Andhra Medical College (AMC) accountant D Bhaskara Kumar Rao for owning assets disproportionate to his known source of income. Though the net worth of assets, including cash, gold, land, and houses were put at Rs 59 lakh, a senior ACB officer said the value is nearly six times more.Simultaneous raids were carried out at his residence in PM Palem and his relatives houses in the city. The cops found a one-storied building in PM Palem and Rs 65,000 in cash, 270 grams of gold, Hyundai car and a bike from his house. They also found a one-storied MIG house and a residential site in PM Palem in his wifes name. He also paid Rs 45 lakh as donation for a medical seat for his daughter D Priyanka. Cops found a Honda Activa, household articles worth Rs 8.5 lakh and Rs 4 lakh deposit in his daughters name.Rao is a native of Tadepalligudem in West Godavari and had joined the medical, health and family welfare department in Vizag as a typist. He worked at various capacities in Paderu, Araku, and Dumbriguda before being promoted as office superintendent in 2016.
