CII is contented on the passage of the Constitution (122nd Amendment) Bill related to GST, which signifies a landmark reform in indirect taxes for Indian economy. It is indeed the most significant tax reform in decades. GST is expected to usher in a harmonised national market of goods and services and shall lead to a simplified, assesse-friendly tax administration system. Once implemented, it will subsume all of the countrys central and state level duties and taxes, thus making the country a national market and contribute significantly to the growth of the economy. GST implementation will also boost the flagship initiatives of the country like ‘Make in India’, ‘Start-up India’, ‘Digital India’, besides others. However, it is critically important for the industry to prepare themselves for the paradigm shift in these indirect tax regulations. It is also important to understand and address the concerns involved in the process of GST implementation.
Against this background, CII Andhra Pradesh, with BDO as Knowledge Partner, is organizing a Seminar on “GST: Preparing for a Paradigm Shift,” at 1430 hrs, on 23 September 2016, at The Park Hotel, Visakhapatnam.
