RINL, Vizag Steel has been adjudged as the “Best Public Sector Organization Award - 2014” by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) for propagating, implementing and sustaining the Quality Concepts viz, Quality Circles & 5S. Vizag Steel has thus added another jewel to its already dazzling crown by winning this National award for the 7th time.

Sri P Madhusudan, CMD RINL complimented employees for their dedicated efforts in getting this award record 7th time. He attributed the team work prevailing in the plant led to winning laurels. Dr GBS Prasad, Director (Personnel), RINL received the Award on the evening of Friday, 19th Dec’2014 during the inaugural function of the 28th National Convention on Quality Concepts organized by QCFI at Pune.

RINL-VSP bagged this National Award competing against many other large organizations. The Assessment team for the PM’s trophy who had visited the Plant recently had praised the efforts of Vizag Steel in the Quality movement.

Sri Shishir Joshipura Managing Director, SKF India Limited was the Chief Guest and Shri Harshavradhan Patil, Ex. Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Shri Rajendra Gandhi MD GRP Ltd. were the Guests of Honour for the function. Dr AK Mittal, President QCFI, Shri S J Kaloakhe Vice-President QCFI and Sri DK Srivastava, Executive Director, QCFI presided over the Award function.

During this function, 1225 teams from 450 organizations and around 8000 delegates both from the Public and Private sector industry from all over India have participated. Sri V Narayanan, GM (MS), led the delegation form RINL, consisting of 19 QC teams, 7 5S teams and 5 delegates to participate in the Convention and present their case studies. Management Services Department of VSP coordinated the presentation of the teams at the National Convention in Pune.
