Dredging Corporation of India Limited, a Mini Ratna Company under Ministry of Shipping, Government of India having its Head Office in Visakhapatnam under its Corporate Social Responsibility Program for 2014-15 has procured medical equipment – for KGH Hospital in order to provide medical treatment to the poor and needy. It has placed orders for two equipment. The second equipment ULTRA SOUND COLOR DOPPLER SYSTEM (My lab 40) costing Rs.15.50 Lakhs has been delivered and installed at KGH.

Handing over the facility to the Superintendent, KGH on 1/12/14, Capt.D.K.Mohanty, CMD, DCI stated that the Company has always been in the forefront in catering to the needs of the people in and around Visakhapatnam as and when necessary. He stated that the first equipment costing Rs.17.50 Lakhs for Cardiology department was already handed over to KGH on 24/10/14. With this DCI has fulfilled its commitment of spending Rs.33 Lakh for purchase of medical equipment for KGH. He stated that the Company is proposing to continue this endeavor next year also.

He further stated that under CSR activity the company is undertaking construction of toilet complexes for six government schools at a cost of about Rs.24 Lakhs under Swachh Vidyalaya Programme.Dr.M.Madhusudhanababu, Superintendent, KGH thanked DCI for its support under CSR activity and stated that this would go a long way in catering to the medical needs of the poor. Cmde.P.Jayapal, Director (Operations & Technical) and other Head of Department of KGH and senior officials from DCI were present on the occasion.
