Noted physician Nandivada Srinivasa Rao passed away here on Thursday. He was 78 and is survived by a son and a daughter. His wife passed away some years ago. He was suffering from mylodysplasia, a bone-marrow related problem.
Dr. Srinivasa Rao was former Head of the Department of Medicine of Andhra Medical College and King George Hospital and was president of local branch of Indian Medical Association. He earned name for taking care of poor patients while in service and conducted free medical camps after his retirement through an organisation ‘Prashanti’ of which he was president. A lover of music and a devout Shivabhakta, Dr. Srinivasa Rao had actively participated in issues concerning KGH, the Samaikyandhdra agitation, etc.
Noted orthopaedic surgeon S.V. Adinarayana Rao, former DME R. Sashiprabha, and others mourned his death.
