About our Artists of the Month:

Our artists for the month of July & August 2004 are Dr Praveen and Ms Sudha. They consider themselves to be amateur artists, but after one look at their work, anybody would find that hard to believe. The precision and detail that they go into is truly remarkable and they are in the true sense of the word art enthusiasts.

Dr Praveen holds a doctorate in Civil Engineering, but he holds painting very dear to his heart and pursues it actively as a hobby. He uses all sorts of media but truly excels in pencil sketches which are his forte. He also shows a rare talent for oil paintings. 

Ms Sudha, is as artistic as her husband and this innate talent has been brought to the forefront with a few techniques and colour mixing that she learned from Ms Jumana Topiwala. Like her husband, she uses different mediums,  but her talent is truly outstanding in intricate hand embroidery. She has also done myriad paintings in water colours, pastels, oils as well as glass paintings. She has won many accolades, one of them being, winning the third prize in the All India Anchor embroidery contest. 

Being such talented people, they are able to perfectly compliment each other in their artwork. They can offer words of advice or criticism in what the other does, the end result being a near perfect rendition of their work, whatever medium it may be.
