About our Artist of the Month:

For the month of October, 2003 to June 2004, we have featured Ms. Smriti Sarawagi as our artist. Ms. Smriti is extremely versatile and adept with her fingers, be it for painting, making of the most beautiful and unusual candles or the  most decorative paper bags. Born and brought up in the city of Calcutta, Smriti came to our 'City of Destiny' after getting married. This artistic talent has been inborn and after coming here, she has found the time and the energy to nurture it. The most ordinary things can be moulded and made into something special with just a little imagination by Ms. Sarawagi. She excels in water colours which are her favourite medium. She has also done glass painting and has done a few oils as well. Her candles in unique and wonderful designs are a wonderful gift for any occasion. And if you're looking for something fancy to put it in, then look no further, for there are the fancy paper bags in an assortment of shapes, colours and sizes, made by her, to put a gift in.

Ms. Smriti has had her work displayed in two exhibitions that were organised by Ms. Jumana Topiwala, to whom she goes for guidance whenever she needs any advice.

Ms. Sarawagi lives in Vizag with her husband and her two daughters.
