Subhash Chandra takes over as DG of DRDO:

Outstanding scientist and Director of Aerial Delivery Research and Development Establishment (ADRDE) Subhash Chandra Sati took over as Director-General (Naval Systems & Materials), DRDO. Dr. Sati was handed over charge by V. Bhujanga Rao and on Sunday he occupied his chambers at the NSTL here.
Dr. Sati, an aeronautics expert, was Director of ADRDE, Agra, prior to taking over as Director-General (Naval Systems & Materials). He has rich experience and specialises in Electro-Hydraulic Control Systems, Launcher Systems, Parachutes & Heavy Drop systems, Aerostats, and Modelling & Simulation for multi-domain mechanical systems. Dr. V. Bhujanga Rao laid down office after a successful tenure of over 42 years in Defence research and DRDO. During this period, he made outstanding contributions towards furthering research in Naval systems. He was instrumental in setting up unique research facilities for R&D of underwater weapons, hydrodynamics and warship technology. He is acknowledged as a pioneer of Naval stealth in the country. Dr. Rao was responsible for conceptualisation, design and development of many Naval systems that include the heavy weight torpedo Varunastra and anti-torpedo decoy system Maareech, which are ready for induction into service.

He had also played a stellar role in the design and development of the recently commissioned Torpedo Launch and Recovery Vessel (TLRV) – INS Astradharini -- and the hydrodynamic test facility - Seakeeping and Manoeuvring Basin (SMB) - which will soon be dedicated to the nation by the Union Defence Minister.
