Sri Tenneti Venkata Surya (TVS) Krishna Kumar today assumed charge as the new Director (Finance) of RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. He is elevated from the present General Manager (Finance) to Director (Finance).

Sri P Madhusudan, CMD, RINL congratulated the Sri Krishna Kumar on his elevation as the new Director (Finance) of the Navratna Company. Sri Madhusudan mentioned that Sri Krishna Kumar took charge at a crucial juncture as the Company is in a phased expansion programme with huge investments to raise its production capacity.

Sri Krishna Kumar professionally a Chartered Accountant and took his MBA from Andhra University and possesses Post Graduate Diploma in Cost Accountancy.

He joined Visakhapatnam Steel Plant an erstwhile unit of Steel Authority of India Ltd., in May, 1981 as Junior Manager (F&A). He worked through various positions reaching up to the level of General Manager (F&A) in 2010. His association with Vizag Steel Plant is right from its’ First Phase construction to the operation of plant and then further Expansion to double the capacity. He is involved with RINL throughout its difficult times and the successful periods. His active contribution in Capital Restructuring and other areas helped the Company in its’ Turnaround from looses to the growth path of expanding its’ capacities.

Visakhapatnam Steel Project Employees Provident Fund Trust, RINL Employees Superannuation Benefit Fund, and RINL Employees Group Gratuity Fund Trust under his chairmanship could generate revenues at rates more than the statutorily prescribed rates of returns by which the Trusts could declare higher returns to the members for the past several years.

He is a well travelled person and visited several countries such as, USA, Netherlands, Hongkong, Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, Ukraine Nepal, Sri Lanka and participated in several seminars/symposia in Higher Management Institutes like Administrative Staff College of India, Management Development Institute, Gurgaon etc, during the course of his career. He is a good sportsperson participating in several outdoor games like Cricket, Shuttle Badminton and also active in Social and Spiritual activities.
