Shri Y. Balaji Kiran, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of the 2013 batch, has assumed additional charge as the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of South Coast Railway.

Apart from this new responsibility, Shri Balaji Kiran has been serving as Deputy General Manager-cum-Secretary to the General Manager of South Coast Railway since November 2025. With extensive experience in traffic and commercial operations within Indian Railways, he has held several key positions, including Senior Divisional Operations Manager of Guntakal Division and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager in both Secunderabad and Hyderabad Divisions.

Academically accomplished, Shri Balaji Kiran holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science Engineering from Sri Kalahasteeswara Institute of Technology (SKIT), Srikalahasti. He also earned an MBA from Osmania University, along with Masters degrees in Political Science and Industrial Relations.

A native of Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, Shri Balaji Kiran is widely recognized for his dedication to social service and youth empowerment. He founded the NGO “Asaya” in Naidupeta and has actively contributed to various community welfare initiatives. Prior to joining the Civil Services, he worked as a Software Engineer in Singapore and later served as Director of Sri Chaitanya IAS Academy, Delhi, mentoring numerous Civil Services aspirants.

With his diverse administrative experience, professional expertise, and strong communication skills, Shri Balaji Kiran is expected to further enhance public engagement, media relations, and outreach initiatives for South Coast Railway.
