Senior IRTS officer and Paradip Port Trust Chairman Rinkesh Roy on Sunday took over as the Chairman in-charge of Visakhapatnam Port Trust.The post has fallen vacant following completion of five-year deputation of 1993 batch IAS officer M.T. Krishna Babu.Mr. Rao did Masters in Public Management from Harvard University and National University of Singapore and graduated in Economics (Honours) from Ravenshaw College, securing first position in Utkal University. He was awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Fellowship in 2013.He joined the Indian Railway Traffic Service in 1992 and took up job in the South Eastern Railway. Mr. Roy has expertise in logistics, operations and strategic planning. He worked in varied capacities and has rich experience in the interface and working of iron-ore mines, steel plants, collieries, power plants and port operations. He was also associated with the formulation of the 12th Five Year Plans of the Ministries of Railways, Coal and Power.He has worked in various capacities in the Railway Operations Department at Khurda Road, Sambalpur, Waltair, Kharagpur, Chakradharpur and Bilaspur divisions. He also worked in the Railway Board as Director (Planning) and Director (Traffic Transportation). He worked in East Coast Railways as Secretary to General Manager and as Chief Freight Traffic Manager of ECOR, wherein he was a member of the team. Earlier, he held additional charge of CMD, Kamarajar Port Ltd and Chairman, VOC Port Trust.
