A senior former Navy officer, Commodore (retd) A.S. Mitra, who has been involved in design and production of several Naval warships, has assumed charge as Director (Ship Building) of Hindustan Shipyard Ltd.
Cmde Mitra has worked with all major shipyards in the country during his tenure in the Navy and his last appointment was Principal Director Naval Architecture.
Prior to that Cmde Mitra was Warship Production Superintendent Goa and deputy general manager (Quality Assurance) in Naval Dockyard Mumbai, according to HSL General Manager (P&A) K V Surya Rao in a statement issued here on Saturday.
Cmde Mitra, an alumni of IIT Kharagpur and PG from IIT Delhi, took charge on Saturday.
