Andhra Pradesh government has appointed senior IPS officer Manish Kumar Sinha as the new Commissioner of Visakhapatnam. He has been working as the Intelligence Chief (Inspector General of Police) of Andhra Pradesh.
Sinha, a 2000-batch officer of AP cadre, handled AP Intelligence only for a few months before being appointed as the Police Commissioner of Visakhapatnam.
Sinha served as a DIG in CBI when he was on deputation in New Delhi till last year. He was probing the FIR against Asthana.
The outgoing Commissioner Meena led the city police for over one year which saw the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown. He is transferred and directed to report to the police head quarters at Mangalagiri for further posting.
