BREAD PUDDING WITH A DIFFERENCE

INGREDIENTS :

6 to 8 slices of bread
1/2 litre whole milk
4 tbsp grated cheese
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste.

METHOD :

Break bread into small pieces., Pour in the milk, add cheese and mix well till the mixture is fairly thick and moist. Pour it into a greased oven-proof dish.
Pour the beaten egg on top. Add more grated cheese to cover the entire top. Dot with tiny blobs of butter.
Pop into a pre - heated oven (250 C) and keep till the top is golden brown. Serve hot with baked beans.
