Collector promises support to promotion of sports:

Playfields will be identified in rural areas for promotion of sports and the district administration would extend all support, Collector and VDCA president N. Yuvaraj said on Wednesday. He was speaking at the valedictory of VDCA’s annual coaching camps at the ACA-VDCA stadium. Director (cricket operations) of ACA and former Indian wicketkeeper M.S.K. Prasad appreciated VDCA for conducting the camps on a large scale every year. ACA was extending all support to the upcoming players and Andhra has performed excellently in the BCCI tournaments, he said.
Secretary of VDCA K. Parthasaradhi said that 250 boys and 20 girls attended the month-long camps held at GVMC stadium, Ukku stadium, ACA-VDCA stadium B ground and zinc stadium. Some of them have the potential to play in higher grade of the game and they would be given special coaching throughout the season. Lead coach and former Andhra Ranji captain K. Chandrasekhara Rao, former Andhra Ranji player H. Ramprasad, vice-presidents of VDCA S.S.R.K. Prasad, T.S.R. Prasad and D.S. Varma, joint secretaries J.K.M. Raju and A.P. Naidu were present.
