The East Coast Railway Sports Association is organizing 54th All India Inter Railway Ball Badminton Championship at Waltair Railway Stadium, Visakhapatnam from 28th to 30th December-2018. Seven zonal teams are taking part in the tournament. East Coast Railway, Integral Coach Factory(ICF), Southern Railway, South Central Railway, Western Railway, South Western Railway, and South Eastern Railway are taking part in the championship.
The championship will be league cum knockout type. Two groups formed as group A comprises of East Coast Railway, South Central Railway and South Eastern Railway where as Group-B comprises of Integral Coach Factory, Southern Railway, Western Railway and South Western Railway.
The inaugural session of commenced with the august presence of Divisional Railway Manager and President, ECoRSA, Waltair Shri Mukul Saran Mathur who was the chief guest of the occasion. Speaking on the occasion DRM said that Railways always give priority to sports and encourage the sporting talent by employment in Railways and also provides good infrastructure for inspiring sports. He assured that Railways will continue the spirit and develop it further to greater heights. The previous event 53rd Ball Badminton Championship was also conducted at Visakhapatnam; Indian Railways won gold in the 63rd National Ball Badminton Championship.
