A weekend cultural festival will be held in the city from April 15, said collector Pravin Kumar on Monday. Chairing a review meeting on tourism projects, he said a cultural festival is planned to attract visitors to the beach during summer vacation. The festivities will include cultural programmes and exhibition stalls, he added. The collector reviewed the proposals of tourism projects worth Rs 1,600 crore signed at the CII Partnership Summit this year. He instructed officials to ensure that all the proposed projects are implemented without hurdles. He instructed the officials to send proposals for sanction of Rs 48 crore from the state budget funds, Rs 5 crore for local tourism projects, Rs 10 crore for festivals and cultural programmes in the city.
