Kalavahini World Music day Celebrations were conducted for the third consecutive year at Kalabaharthi on June 21st whichis officially marked as the world music day.

Along with Founder President S.K Mohiddin, Secretary, Usha Chirala, Gen Secretary, Sita Lakshmi, our advisors Mr. Sun Murthy, Mr. Rajshekhar, and K. Nagaraju, our coordinators, Mr. Sri Ram Murthy, Mr. Narendra kumar and Smt. Jostsna Sreeranagam completed the program successfully.

The chief guest for the program was the collector Mr. A Solomon.

Managing Director, Mahita estates, Mr. Malleswara Rao, Maha cement regional distributors, Mr. D. Siva Ram Prasad AGM marketing, and Mr. T. Suresh.kumar, A.G.M marketing, SBI, Murali nagar branch manager, Mr. J.S Manmadha Rao Vijaya Nirman company Pvt, Ltd, Casio India Ltd, Strings music shop were our sponsors besides some parents of our students.

More than 700 participants participated in 28 categories of art music and dance, which includes classical and westerndance. In singing the categories were light music, karoke, film songs in telugu and hindi, bhajans, tyagaraja kritis, annamayya keertanas, patriotic songs etc.

20 talent awards and two international citations to Master.Anirudh Chirala from United States studying in Drexel University, Pennsylvania and Master.S. Siddharath studying sound engineering in London was given away by the Collector Mr. A. Solomon.

Judges Mr Phani Bhushan, Mr C.H.V Satyanarayana, Sri Parupalli, Satyanarayana, Smt Sitalakshmi. Smt. N Saraswati, kum. Nishcita, Kum. Ramaya, Mr. Raju and Mr. Madhu were our judges for the program.

More than 330 prizes were given away and lucky dip of 5000/- was also drawn towards the end of the program. The program was anchored by Mr. Narendra kumar and Mrs. Usha Chirala and was presided over by Mr. SunMurthy and Mr Rajshekhar.

The program started at 3.30 itself to give away prizes in the categories of sub-juniors and juniors Our guests, Dr. P. Rama Devi, Dr..N. Sridevi and Dr. G. Sireesha Rani and Dr. N.Sarat Babu gave away the prizes to sub-juniors and juniors, followed by cultural program where we saw enthralling performance in Vandemaataram by NVSL Prasanna and Krishna Priya from Satya Sai Nitya Vihar. Smt. Saraswati performed Annamayya keertana on veena along with her students and with Mr Narendara on table.

P.V Satyanaryana played keyboard from the film Aashiqui” “sun raha hai”. Mythali Sreerangam performed on Keyboard from the film “Manamadhudu”, Gundella emundo.., they belong to Kalavahini and Maneesh belonging to Narendra music institute performed from the film DDLJ, Tujhe dekha to”.

Sri Vidhya from Vagdevi institute sang “Sawaar lo” from the film Lootera. Baby Sriya presented solo performance in kuchipudi from Vagdevi institute and group dance in kuchipudi was also performed by Vagdevi institute. Anuraag chirala, who performed “Navaragamalika varaman” on Violin belongs to Kalavahini.

Strings group children performed the song, Hotel California and Ranjeet and group performed”O shanti1” from the film “Surya son of Krishna”.

Siddihiqui and Sneha performed a spectacular salsa dance.

Retd. K. Chandrashekhar, All India Radio Director and music director for Telugu films also participated in the program.

Two grand felicitations were performed for Sri Vankayala Sanyasaraju garu, Retd. Kanakamahalakshmi chairman and Sri Kalamitra S.V Jagannath Rao Patnaik garu of Swati Vasanti cultural society.
