A man allegedly killed his wife at Vemagottipalem area under Anadapuram police station limits in the city over family dispute on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as M Eswaramma (29), while her husband is M Koteswara Rao, a lorry cleaner.
Inspector of Anandapuram R Govinda Rao said Eswaramma was married to Koteswara Rao in 2005. For the past few years, there was a dispute between the couple over family and financial issues.
On Sunday night, Koteswara Rao indulged in a heated argument with his wife and thereafter strangled her to death. The accused later surrendered before the police.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that asphyxia due to strangulation was the cause of death. It was the fourth murder in past five days. The police have registered a case.
