Two Thai women held from Ruan Spa Center

The Vizag city police raided Ruan Spa Centre, located at Asilmetta and detained two women from Thailand on charges of working at the massage parlour. The two women were on a tourist visa. The cops registered cases against the spa and the organiser of the spa, Vorem Abhilash, who is a native of Karimnagar in Telangana. The Thai women, Chamnan Montian, 34 and Supinya Chaiharan, 42 had arrived in Vizag city on a tourist visa two months

ago. They were employed by the spa centre to give clients Thai massages and were paid daily wages (40 per cent of the amount collected from customers). Abhilash had offered employment to the Thai women by violating the norms. ADCP (special branch) P.V. Ravi Kumar said that it was the second such incident in the last three months. A few months ago, four women from Thailand were arrested from another spa located in Seethammadhara area in the city. The 3-Town police said that both the women from Ruan Spa were arrested under Sec 14 (b) and (C) of the Foreigners Act- 1946. The women are under surveillance and their original passports have been seized."
