Three held on land grab charge:

The PM Palem police on Monday arrested three members of a family on the charge of grabbing a prime land belonging to Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) to an extent of around 2.5 acres at Pardesipalem area in the city.

The land grabbers were identified as Godi Narasimha Chari (50), Godi Ramachandra Rao (53) and Godi Kasulamma, residents of Burujupeta and Gambheeram areas in the city. According to ACP (Madhurwada) D. Ravi Babu, the Collector has allotted around 5.2 acres of land at Pardesipalem and the land was handed over to the GVMC Estate Officer by the MRO in 2008.

However, GVMC Commissioner J. Praveen Kumar noticed that around 2.5 acres of the land was grabbed by some miscreants with the help of forged documents.

The GVMC Commissioner lodged a complaint with the PM Palem Police station. During the course of investigation, it was found that Godi Narasimha Chari and Godi Ramachandra Rao had forged the pattadar passbooks and the title deeds in the name of their mother G. Kasulamma.
