A noted doctor in Gajuwaka has been receiving threat calls since October 22.
According to DCP (Zone-II) Ramgopal Naik, the miscreant has been calling the doctor and demanding a sum of Rs.1 crore. The caller has even threatened to kill his son and son-in-law if the amount is not paid.
Based on a complaint, the DCP has entrusted the investigation to a special team.
It is learnt that the team has zeroed in on the suspect.
“We have identified the suspect who has been making the extortion calls and will arrest him shortly,” Dr. Naik told The Hindu on Monday.
