Teacher held on charge of ATM fraud:

A B.Sc. graduate was arrested by the city police on charges of fraudulently withdrawing money from ATM counters, here on Monday.

The accused, Pedada Chinnababu (21), was a teacher with a private school and a resident of Madhurawada area in the city. ACP D. Ravi Babu said that Chinnababu would wait for a gullible user at ATM counters, especially at the counters that had more than one ATM. His modus operandi was unique. Once the user swipes the card in one machine, he would say the machine was not working or it was discharging only Rs. 1,000 notes. If the victim falls in his trap, he or she would immediately move to the second machine without pressing the cancel button. Once the person moves to the other machine, he would press the pin number which he remembers and draw the money.
