In a raid at a star hotel near Police Barracks, a City Task Force team busted a gambling gang here on Tuesday.
The high-stake gambling was taking place in a room in the hotel.
According to CTF Inspector Ilyas Mohammed, six persons were arrested and about Rs. 2.5 lakh and nine cell phones were seized from the gamblers.
The CTF team conducted the raid under the supervision of ACP I. Chittibabu, based on credible information.
The arrested were booked under AP Gambling Act and handed over to the Two Town Police Station for further action.
Raid at Vadlapudi
In another raid at RS Colony in Vadlapudi, five persons were arrested for indulging in gambling in an open space under a tree.
The CTF also seized Rs. 12,205 in cash, four cell phones and six motor cycles.
The arrested were handed over to Duvvada Police Station.
