Straight out of a Tollywood flick, three persons barged into the residence of P. Seshagiri Rao, Managing Director of Vimala Drugs, located at Rajanagar Rao, near Duvvada railway station, and threatened him to sign some document, after inflicting bleeding injuries on him, here on Wednesday.
According to Duvvada Inspector K. Shankar Narayana, the MD of the pharma company, which is located in Parwada Pharma City, was at home alone in the morning. After hearing a knock at his door, he opened the door and three persons barged in and hit him on the head with the butt of a knife.
They then tried to force him to sign some documents at knife point. Mustering courage, he not only refused to sign but also raised an alarm.
Fearing that neighbours might be alerted, the trio fled. The police launched a manhunt for the three persons.
According to the police, the apartment has a CCTV camera and they are examining the clips.
Police said the victim’s family members suspected the hand of a former partner of Mr. Seshagiri Rao.
