Navy officer arrested in accident case:

The Two Town Police have arrested Chinmayi Talwalkar, naval officer of the Eastern Naval Command, who was involved in an accident on May 29 night on the GVMC flyover.
Chinmayi Talwalkar drove the car in an inebriated condition onto the median on the GVMC flyover and crushed one Nakka Janardhan Raju (20), who was sleeping on the median. Raju had died on the spot.
In the alcometer test at the accident spot, the officer tested 18 counts, which was below the permissible limit of 29. The blood sample of the officer was also sent to the Regional Forensic Laboratory for further authentication.
The investigation took a twist, when Nakka Kondaiah (Mattayya) and Nakka Krishnaveni, claiming to be the original parents of Raju arrived a couple of days later to claim the body and the compensation. But by then one Demudu who claimed to be the deceased’s father had buried the body with the help of Prema Samajam.
DNA test
The revenue official along with police and a team of medical officers exhumed the body of the deceased last Thursday for DNA test for confirmation of the parents.
The case was handed over to the Law Order section by the Traffic department for further investigation.

The naval officer was arrested late on Sunday under IPC Section 304 and sent to remand on Monday.
