A person was stabbed with a knife and hit with an iron rod at Peethavanipalem in Pedawaltair area on Thursday evening. The victim was identified as D. Govindu (40) an employee of GVMC. According to the Three Town (MVP Zone) police, he survived the attack and is undergoing treatment at King George Hospital.
The Inspector of MVP Zone Vidyasagar informed The Hindu , that the brothers of the victim’s wife N. Srinivas and N. Ramesh, attacked Govindu for allegedly torturing their sister. “We are yet to take the duo into custody,” said Mr. Vidyasagar.
The police have booked a case under IPC Section 307 and are investigating.
