Kodelas daughter in law accuses police of soft pedalling:

It has been over five days since my four-year-old son, K. Gowtham, was kidnapped from my house and I have even registered a case in Three Town police station, but there has been no action so far, alleged Padma Priya, the estranged wife of Kodela Sivaramakrishna, son of Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly Kodela Siva Prasad Rao on Monday.

Addressing media here on Monday, she said that her husband, accompanied by seven prominent men from society, some 10 drunk goons and Two Town Police Station (Maharanipeta zone) SHO Mallikarjun Rao with a constable, barged into her parent’s house when she was with the child and her mother and took away her son forcibly.

The incident happened on September 18 and following her complaint, a case under IPC sections 498 A (harassment), 363 (Kidnapping) and 441 (Trespassing), was registered on the same day, against her husband and the seven other persons who accompanied him.

She alleged that the police was soft-pedalling the case, as high profile persons were involved and the delay would enable them to obtain anticipatory bail.

Ms. Padma Priya also said that the police desisted from including the name of SHO Mallikarjun Rao in the FIR.

Ms. Padma Priya also claimed that the manager of Satya’s Add Life, a spa belonging to the Kodela’s family, registered a case against her parents under SC/ST Atrocities Act. She demanded that her son be released and the case against her parents be withdrawn.

“Let them fight it out legally to take my son,” she said.

Even after five days of my son’s kidnap, there has been no action from police so far, alleges Padma Priya
