Inspector of Coastal Security Police, Pudimadaka, Visakhapatnam district, Sheikh Hussain was suspended on Wednesday, after he was arrested by the ACB in a disproportionate assets case, about a week ago.
Sheikh Hussain was arrested by the ACB officials on last Wednesday for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known source of income to the tune of about Rs. 20 crore, as per the market value. DIG (Visakha Range) A. Ravichandra suspended Hussain on Wednesday and the suspension will stay until the investigation is completed. The findings of the ACB have revealed that Hussain has several properties including one fully-furnished three storied posh house on over 300 sq yards of land at Timmapuram, a house site measuring 470 sq yards at Sheelanagar and another 270 sq yards at Yendada in Visakhapatnam city. The tainted police officer also has a house of 260 sq yards at Pendurthi in the name of his associate Anitha and a real estate firm Orbrise Infra Project in the name of his children and he has procured some land by threatening the genuine land owners.
According to the police, a departmental enquiry has been initiated against Hussain.
