Cheating case: RI for former postal employee:

Principal Special Judge for CBI cases Gayathri Devi on Friday convicted and sentenced Kumandoori Panduranga Rao, the then Postal Assistant, Head Post Office, Tekkali, Srikakulam district, to undergo rigorous imprisonment for three years and slapped a fine of Rs. 36,000, for cheating the Postal Department.

Panduranga Rao during the period from June 12, 2009 to October 19, 2011, fraudulently withdrew amounts to the tune of Rs. 4,90,000, Rs. 5,80,000, Rs. 4,97,000 and Rs. 5,21,000, in total Rs.20,88,000, by using forged documents. He also entered into a criminal conspiracy with Annu Sundara Rao and B. Meghanadham, the then postal assistants, Head Post Office, Tekkali, Srikakulam district, to cheat the department by fraudulently withdrawing money by using forged documents.
