Burglars have a free run:

Burglars struck at a locked house and decamped with about 170 gms of gold ornaments, Rs. 44,000 in cash and a few other items at Balajinagar of Tagarapuvalasa under Bheemunipatnam police station limits, in wee hours on Wednesday.

According to reports, the burglars gained entry into the house of one K. Srinivasa Rao when the inmates of the house were away and decamped with the valuables.

The police said that the housebreakers also tried to loot three other houses in the same area, but were unsuccessful.

Valuables missing

Rao and his family returned home on Wednesday morning and found that the front door lock was broken and valuables that were kept in the almirah were missing.

Based on the complaint filed, the Bheemunipatnam police have registered a case and investigation is on to nab the accused.

Another gang of burglars broke into three temples under Chodavaram police station limits in the district in the early hours of Wednesday and made good with the cash and gold jewellery that were kept in the collection boxes of the temples.

The amount of jewellery and cash looted is yet to be ascertained, as they were dropped by the devotees in the boxes, said the rural police.
