The Gopalpatnam police arrested A. Sreenu, an autorickshaw driver, on the charge of threatening two traffic constables with a button knife he was carrying here on Friday.
Inspector of Gopalpatnam Police Station G. Balasurya Rao said that the accused, in an inebriated condition, was proceeding towards the road near Gopalpatnam Railway Station when the police tried to stop him.
He evaded them and sped away.
After a hot chase, when the traffic cops intercepted him, he pulled out a button knife and threatened to attack them.
They, however, overpowered and arrested him.
The police say that he was in a drunken condition and the breath analyser had recorded about 360 ml.
