The Yellamachili Circle police arrested four persons on theft charges and recovered stolen property worth about Rs. 5.5 lakh from them on Sunday.
The arrested were identified as Murukurthi Kumar (29), Pallapati Yesu (25), Murukurthi Venugopal (23) and Mindala Raju (23), all residents of ASR Colony, Yellamanchili.
According to Circle-Inspector Venkat Rao, the four committed theft in six shops and indulged in a house-breaking in various areas such as Pendurthi, Kothavalasa, Narsipatnam, Makavarapalem, Anakapalle, Payakaraopeta and Yellamanchili. They also charged with stealing two auto-rickshaws.
The police recovered seven LED TVs, two home theatres, about 50 gm of gold ornaments, a motorcycle, 200 kg of bronze items and one-and-half kg of silver articles. The police also arrested one Gunturu Prudvi for purchasing an item from the offenders.
