2 held in murder for gain case:

The police on Friday arrested two persons in connection with the murder for gain case that occurred on September 11 at Relli Veedhi in Seethammapeta area. The accused were identified as Ganta Rama Raju (25) and Asanala Yesudasu, both residents of Relli Veedhi.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) T. Ravi Kumar Murthy, Ganta Rama Raju, a part-time autorickshaw driver, had barged into the house of Asanala Chinammallu (45) at around 11.30 p.m. when she was alone and smashed her head on the floor and then strangulated her to death with the help of a blanket.

Later, the accused broke open an almirah and took away a pair of gold ear studs, one gold chain and Rs. 10,000 in cash. He gave the ear studs to Asanala Yesudasu, who was also present at the crime scene, and fled the city for Bangaluru.

“The accused returned to the city on Friday and based on credible information a team from Fourth Town and Dwaraka Police station nabbed him,” said Mr. Ravi Kumar Murthy.
