A woman committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan allegedly due to harassment by her live-in partner at Arilova here on Sunday.
The deceased, identified as D. Sujana (28), was in a live-in relationship with Suresh Varma. She was an anchor for some stage shows in the city.
Sujana was staying at Arilova following separation from her husband through divorce. Suresh, of the same area, befriended her and they were in a live-in relationship for the past two years.
Suresh started suspecting her fidelity and had been quarrelling with her for the past few months. Sujana reportedly went into a depression and took the extreme step on Sunday.
Based on a complaint from the relatives of the victim, Inspector of Arilova Zone Police Station Ch. Dhanunjaya Naidu registered a case under Section 174 of Cr. Pc and is investigating it.
