Rs. 10 lakh, gold ornaments stolen:

The reported house-breaking incident at Pydimamba Colony under the Gajuwaka Police Station limits on Tuesday night is baffling the police.

The incident occurred in a house owned by Chinatalli.

In her report to the police, she claimed that Rs. 10 lakh in cash and gold ornaments were found missing from the cupboard when they got up on Wednesday morning.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) G. Ramgopal Naik said that the elderly woman lived along with her three daughters in the house. “While they were sleeping on the first floor, the incident took place on the ground floor, where the money was kept in a cupboard. The key of the cupboard was also kept close by,” he said.

The police are still in the process of ascertaining the extent of gold robbed and are investigating all possible angles.

“We do not rule out the possibility of the crime being committed by some known persons,” the DCP said.
