RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant commenced the new financial year on a very positive note by achieving 24% growth in Saleable Steel production during the first two months. Production of Hot Metal, Liquid Steel and Captive Power Generation also registered a growth of 10%, 13% and 24% respectively during the period.
Best performance for any month since inception was achieved in May’15 in the areas of Coke production and average Power Generation. The monthly production levels achieved in Crude Steel and Saleable Steel was also the best for any April and May since inception.
Sri P Madhusudan, CMD, RINL expressed confidence that the production would be ramped up further with stabilization of expansion units with the dedicated and committed efforts of RINL collective.
RINL also registered a growth of 15% in its turnover till May’15. During the period, the exports grew by 201% to Rs 395 crores against Rs 131 crores of CPLY. The sales volume recorded an impressive growth of 49% during the first two months.
