- Liquid Steel production rises by 16%
- Improvement in several techno-economic parameters
Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, started the fiscal on a positive note, with the best ever April turnover since inception (Rs.875 crs), registering a remarkable growth of 51%. This includes exports of Rs.75 crs. The sales of wire rods was impressive with a growth of 67%.
Despite power restrictions & power holidays imposed by the State Govt., RINL achieved a growth of 16% in Liquid Steel; 16% in Crude Steel; and 4% in Hot Metal.
In techno-economic parameters, improvement was registered on several factors such as BF Productivity; Fuel Rate; Labour Productivity Specific Energy; Specific Water Consumption, etc.
Sri P Madhusudan, CMD, RINL, exuded confidence and was hopeful that the performance would further improve progressively in the current fiscal.
