About our artist:  Ms. K. Padmasri from Visakhapatnam.

Ms K. Padmasri paints with passion and uses the art as an expression of her feelings about the bounty of nature. Living with her husband Mr K. Sreenivas and sons K. Sidhartha and K. Sumanth, Padmasri resides at Pandurangapuram and has adorned her home with her works of art.

On the personal front, Padmasri is shy and chooses to listen more than to talk. Her artistic revelations remained dormant till she was in College but the desire to pursue art was strong and subsequently surfaced during the years 1990-2000.

At Visakhapatnam, she channelised her artistic bent by undergoing a course with Ms Jumana Topiwala in oil painting and from Ms Rani Rao in Tanjore paintings. Soon she was on her own, creating pretty pictures in water colours, dry pastels, oil paints, fabric paints, stained glass painting, Minakari, Tanjore and Tanjore glass painting etc. Art work is not restricted to merely painting; embroidery, ceramic works, artefacts and candle-making are also her pursuits.

Flowers and sceneries interest her immensely and she tries to capture it in its various moods. The colours she selects are natural, bright and realistic, more in tune with the subjects she portrays. Human expressions are tough to sketch while flowers in fabric paints are much easier to paint, she says.

Padmasri has offered her skills at a crafts session organised at MVP Public School and at some other occasions. Collective exhibition of her works along with others is a project she will pursue in the near future.

She offers to teach students in batches at home and can be contacted at 0891-2562474 and 3092745.
