 Commissioner of Intermediate Education Lav Agarwal will be the new District Collector of Visakhapatnam.
J. Syamal Rao, who earned a good name by starting stores for sale of generic medicines at a cheaper price than the market price and improving the condition in government hospitals particularly King George Hospital, has been posted as Vice-Chairman-cum-Managing Director of AP Medical and Health Infrastructure Corporation.
Mr. Agarwal earlier served as Chairman and Managing Director of AP Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL).
The vacancy of GVMC Commissioner, caused by the transfer of V.N. Vishnu sometime ago, will be filled with the appointment of B Ramanjeyulu. He had a brief stint in the city as Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes. Joint Collector Pola Bhaskar has been transferred as Chief Rationing Officer of Hyderabad. Girija Shankar, who was on leave, has been posted as new Joint Collector.
