Commodore K.A. Bopanna, took over command of INS Circars from Commodore Saleem M Anwer at an impressive Ceremonial Parade held at the Circars Parade ground on Friday.
Later, the outgoing Commanding Officer was given farewell by the officers and sailors of INS Circars through the traditional Pulling out Ceremony.
Prior to this appointment, Commodore K.A. Bopanna was Naval Officer-in-Charge (Andhra Pradesh). He would be the 22nd Commanding Officer of INS Circars, the oldest naval establishment on East Coast and the base depot ship, providing administrative and logistics support to the Headquarters, Eastern Naval Command and a large number of units based in and around Visakhapatnam.
Commodore Saleem M Anwer, a Naval Aviator, served as the 21st Commanding Officer of INS Circars for over four years. He is proceeding to New Delhi as Additional Principal Director of Ex-Servicemen Affairs at IHQ MoD(N).
