CAPTAIN SATISH UNIYAL TAKES OVER AS NAVAL OFFICER IN CHARGE

Captain Satish Uniyal took over as Naval Officer-in-Charge (Andhra Pradesh) from Commodore Ajay Saxena, at a Ceremonial Parade held at Naval Dockyard today, 28 Mar 14.

Captain Uniyal, a specialist in Anti Submarine Warfare, has held a number of prestigious appointments both afloat and ashore. His afloat appointments include tenures onboard INS Ajay, INS Akshay, INS Mysore and Command of INS Nirghat and INS Taragiri. An alumnus of the Naval War College, Karanja, Mumbai and the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, Captain Uniyal has been an instructor and Directing Staff at DSSC, Wellington. His Staff tenures include that of the Command ASW Officer, Western Naval Command, Mumbai and in the Directorate of Staff Requirements at the Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence. Prior to the present appointment, he was the Commanding Officer of the indigenous stealth frigate INS Shivalik.

After a successful tenure as Naval Officer-in-Charge (AP), Commodore Ajay Saxena, the outgoing NOIC (AP), proceeds to IHQ MoD (Navy), New Delhi as the Principle Director, Ex-servicemen Affairs.
